Embroidery Designer

Position: Embroidery Designer – Garment Export House

Location: Andheri (E) MIDC, Chakala - Mumbai

Experience: 3 to 4 years

Salary: ₹30,000 - ₹40,000 per month (As per candidature)

Job Summary

The Embroidery Designer is responsible for creating innovative embroidery concepts, motifs, layouts, and techniques for Mens, Ladies and Kids apparel products in an Export House. The role involves translating buyer requirements into high-quality embroidery designs, ensuring feasibility for production, and maintaining timely delivery of samples.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Development

• Create embroidery motifs, layouts, and technique-based artwork for garments and textiles (manual sketches or digital).
• Develop new design concepts aligned with seasonal trends, buyer mood boards, and market demands.
• Work on various embroidery techniques such as computerized embroidery, handwork, sequins, beadwork, threadwork etc.
• Prepare digitized embroidery files using software such as Wilcom, Tajima DG/ML, or similar.

Sampling & Production Coordination

• Coordinate with sampling teams to ensure embroidery outcomes match the approved artwork.
• Provide technical guidance to sample masters, handwork karigars, and machine operators.
• Review and approve embroidery samples for accuracy, quality, and workmanship.
• Ensure designs are production-friendly and meet cost, time, and technique requirements.

Buyer Interaction & Documentation

• Understand buyer tech packs, swatches, and references to create accurate designs.
• Prepare and maintain spec sheets, stitch details, color charts, and other documentation.
• Participate in buyer meetings for design explanation and approvals.

Trend Research & Innovation

• Conduct research on international trends, fabrics, stitches, motifs, and embroidery technologies.
• Develop trend boards for upcoming seasons and support the design team with new ideas.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure embroidery is aligned with the export house's quality standards.
• Conduct quality checks on embroidery during sampling and production stage.
• Maintain deadlines and contribute to smooth workflow.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree/diploma in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
• Strong creative and aesthetic sense for color, texture, and detailing.
• Proficiency in embroidery software (e.g., Wilcom, Ethos, Tajima).
• Good understanding of fabric behavior, stitches, and production methods.
• Ability to interpret buyer requirements and technical specifications.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience in an export house (preferred).

Work Environment

· Close coordination with designers, merchandisers, sampling unit, and production teams.

· Fast-paced environment with strict deadlines and quality expectations.

• Day shift – Monday to Saturday, All 6 days working
