Established in 2004, CRISP focuses on promoting research in innovation policy related to agriculture and rural development. The organization is led by renowned science policy researchers advocating for a holistic approach to innovation policy, specifically in rural settings.

Position: Research Intern

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Research Intern to join our team. This on-site internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on research experience in the field of innovation policy as it relates to agriculture and rural development. As an intern, you will work directly with senior researchers and contribute to meaningful projects and initiatives of CRISP. A small monthly stipend will be provided, and the duration is 3 months.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough internet research and gather relevant information from diverse sources.
• Assist in literature reviews, analyzing academic and policy papers to synthesize insights.
• Support ongoing research projects by compiling data and preparing reports.
• Create and deliver presentations using MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Help manage CRISP's social media presence, promoting research outputs and events.
• Collaborate with team members in drafting and editing research papers, policy briefs, and other communications.
• Demonstrate attention to detail in all tasks to ensure high-quality outputs.
• Actively contribute ideas and participate in discussions to further research goals.

Required Skills and Qualities

• Strong internet browsing and information-gathering skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Familiarity with social media platforms for professional use (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to conduct structured literature reviews.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Curiosity, willingness to learn, and an eagerness to contribute to research on rural development.
• Knowledge or strong interest in agriculture and rural innovation.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree (or currently pursuing one) in Agricultural Extension, Rural Development, Social Work, Development Studies, or any related social science discipline.
• A foundational understanding of agriculture and rural development is essential.
