The Opportunity

As Technical Lead, you will:

• Define & deliver the core architecture of our platform
• Lead engineering execution from first MVP to global scale deployments
• Build and ship mission-critical intelligence running in real vehicles across real environments
• Push breakthroughs in:
• Predictive awareness & hazard intelligence
• Sub-second decision-making at the edge
• Secure, decentralized V2X networking
• AI-driven operational resilience and learning

Your work will save lives, eliminate downtime, and rewrite what the world expects from moving systems.

Core Responsibilities

Architecture & Product Leadership

• Establish the complete technical blueprint for distributed mobility intelligence
• Drive modular edge-cloud architecture balancing performance, safety, and scale
• Own system design decisions: protocols, compute models, data lifecycle, update strategies

Real-time Intelligence Engineering

• Deliver edge-native sensing and prediction modules
• Ensure deterministic latency, reliability, and safe fallback behaviors
• Integrate & optimize algorithms for dynamic road and fleet conditions

Communication & Networking

• Engineer vehicle-to-everything communication channels that work even offline
• Build self-healing communication meshes with error-tolerant routing
• Oversee secure-by-design data integrity and identity protocols

Scalability & Operations

• Architecture fit for millions of moving nodes
• Observability, security, OTA lifecycle, and fleetwide coordination
• Champion testing through digital twin simulation + real-world validation

Leadership & Culture Building

• Hire, mentor, and shape a high-performance engineering team
• Collaborate closely with AI, infrastructure, and product groups
• Instill a fast-moving, mission-first mindset with rigor and execution excellence

Technical Foundations You Must Have

• Hands-on experience in engineering complex systems, including hands-on architecture leadership
• Strong experience with C/C++, Rust, or similar at the system level
• Embedded Linux, real-time OS, or hardware-software co-design experience
• Deep expertise in one or more:
• Vehicle systems, ADAS, robotics, autonomous tech
• Multi-sensor fusion, edge inference, safety-critical software
• High-availability networking or low-latency message protocols
• Telemetry pipelines and distributed systems at scale

Bonus Superpowers

• Knowledge of mobility/industrial safety and cybersecurity standards (ISO 26262, etc.)
• Familiarity with 5G, DSRC, UWB, or emerging V2X signaling technologies
• Digital twins, simulation frameworks, or federated learning experience
• Built and shipped systems that operate in unpredictable physical environments
