Job Title: Infection Control Nurse
Department: Infection Control / Quality Department
Reports To: Infection Control Officer / Nursing Superintendent / Hospital Administrator
Location: Vedansh Super Specialty Hospital and Heart Centre
Job Summary:
The Infection Control Nurse is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring infection prevention and control (IPC) policies and programs across the hospital to minimize healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and ensure patient, staff, and visitor safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and monitor the hospital's infection control program in compliance with NABH and WHO guidelines.
- Conduct regular surveillance of hospital-acquired infections (HAIs) and maintain proper records.
- Collect, analyze, and report data on infection trends to the Infection Control Committee.
- Ensure proper sterilization, disinfection, and biomedical waste management practices.
- Monitor hand hygiene compliance among staff and provide feedback.
- Conduct infection control audits in various departments (ICU, OT, wards, laboratories, etc.).
- Educate and train healthcare workers on infection prevention protocols.
- Participate in outbreak investigation and control measures when required.
- Ensure environmental cleaning standards and coordinate with housekeeping for compliance.
- Assist in formulating and updating infection control policies, SOPs, and guidelines.
- Ensure adherence to PPE protocols and safe needle disposal practices.
- Participate in committee meetings and prepare periodic reports for management review.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: B.Sc. Nursing / M.Sc. Nursing (Registered with State Nursing Council)
- Certification: Infection Control Training / Diploma in Infection Control (preferred)
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of nursing experience; 1 year in infection control preferred.
- Skills Required:
- Strong knowledge of infection prevention, sterilization, and waste management standards
- Analytical and reporting skills
- Good communication and training ability
- Attention to detail and observation skills
Work Schedule:
- Regular working hours with flexibility for audits, rounds, or emergencies
Compensation:
- As per hospital norms / based on qualification and experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹40, ₹50,000.00 per month
