Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Planning & Scheduling:Develop short-term and long-term production plans based on customer orders and project timelines.
  • Material & Resource Management:Forecast raw material (steel coils) requirements, coordinate with purchase and stores for availability, and plan machine and manpower resources for optimal utilization.
  • Shop Floor Coordination:Monitor production progress on the shop floor, identify and address delays or bottlenecks, and ensure the availability of necessary fixtures and tools.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:Interface and coordinate with Quality, Design, Purchase, and Stores departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery.
  • ERP/System Management:Utilize ERP systems for job order creation, material issuance, status updates, and maintain production reports.
  • Performance Monitoring:Analyze production variances, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide reports on production performance to management.
  • Continuous Improvement:Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements for cost reduction and productivity optimization.
  • Vendor Coordination:Track and coordinate with subcontractors for outsourced machining or fabrication jobs, ensuring timely delivery and quality compliance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education:A Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field is typically required.
  • Experience:Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in production planning and control, is essential.

  • Technical Skills:

  • ERP Systems: Proficiency in SAP or other manufacturing ERP systems.

  • Data Analysis: Strong analytical skills to analyze production data and identify trends or inefficiencies.
  • Microsoft Excel: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting and data management.

  • Production Planning Tools: Familiarity with production planning software and tools is advantageous.

  • Soft Skills:

  • Coordination & Communication: Excellent coordination and communication skills to work with various departments.

  • Analytical & Problem-Solving: Strong ability to analyze issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Organizational & Time-Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously under pressure.
