Role Overview:

As a Python Automation Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automation scripts and frameworks to streamline processes across software development, deployment, testing, or data pipelines. Youll work closely with development, QA, DevOps, or data teams to improve operational efficiency and system reliability through automation.

Key Responsibilities:

Script & Tool Development:

  • Design and implement Python scripts to automate repetitive tasks, workflows, and system processes
  • Build or enhance existing automation frameworks used for testing, deployment, or data operations
  • Develop tools and utilities to support internal engineering or business teams

Testing & QA Automation (if applicable):

  • Automate test cases using Python-based frameworks (e.g., PyTest, Robot Framework, Selenium)
  • Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines and improve test coverage and reporting
  • Debug and maintain automated test scripts and logs

Data & Workflow Automation (if applicable):

  • Automate data collection, cleaning, transformation, and reporting processes
  • Work with APIs, databases, and file systems to streamline data flows
  • Create scheduled tasks, triggers, or cron jobs to maintain pipelines

Documentation & Maintenance:

  • Maintain clear documentation for automation tools and scripts
  • Ensure all scripts follow coding standards, version control, and security best practices
  • Monitor and troubleshoot automated processes, updating as systems evolve

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and automation tools like Terraform, Ansible
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and integration automation
  • Familiarity with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Basic knowledge of databases (SQL/NoSQL) and working with large data sets
  • Experience in testing or DevOps pipelines is a plus
