Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai for a Footwear Designer specializing in sports products. The Footwear Designer will be responsible for designing innovative and functional sports footwear through technical drawing, product design, and industrial design methodologies. The role entails creating and presenting mood boards, conducting thorough market research, and collaborating with the product development team to bring concepts to production. Additionally, the designer will maintain awareness of industry trends and utilize international sourcing capabilities to contribute to the creation of high-quality, cutting-edge products.

Roles & Responsibilities

Design footwear collection & ranges based on business requirement.


• Build concepts and create exciting new design ideas for the footwear ranges.


• Research & study seasonal trends, colours, prints, materials and styling.


• Conduct markets and store visits to study consumer behaviour and understand market trends.


• Analyse weekly and monthly sales sell through reports.


• Market Research + Cross competition analysis + Research (WGSN /Pinterest etc)


• Create designs sketches (CAD Generation) design illustrations,


• Create colourway's and tech-packs.


• Create storyboards, concept coards, mood boards, trims boards.


• Liase with product development & sourcing team for all research & developments.


• Attend design & product meetings.


• Contribute well researched ideas for tradeshow & catalogues, including making presentations with ppts & illustrations.


• Maintain design material library.


• Give design presentations to internal & external partners.


• Liase with inter department functions w.r.t design work.


• Roles and responsibility is not limited to footwear design only but also extended to the design department.

Skills Set Required :


• Background in footwear design (sportswear/fashion).


• A creative mind with the ability to understand fashion & trends.


• Good understanding of Sportswear / Sportstyle / Lifestyle.


• Highly efficient in Illustrator, Adobe and other design software


• Sound technical knowledge in footwear manufacturing
