Job Description: Business Development Executive – IP & R&D Solutions
Location: Mumbai / Navi Mumbai
Experience: 2–6 years

About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and dynamic Business Development Executive to drive client acquisition and strategic partnerships in the domain of Intellectual Property, Research & Development, and Technology Solutions. The role involves working closely with R&D organizations, corporates, universities, and startups to promote services such as patent analytics, IP portfolio management, licensing support, and innovation consulting.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and generate new business opportunities with R&D centers, universities, law firms, corporates, and startups.
- Promote services such as patent search & analytics, technology landscaping, licensing & commercialization, and IP strategy consulting.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with decision makers (R&D Heads, Innovation Managers, Legal/IP Counsels, CXOs).
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and client needs.
- Draft and present proposals, pitch decks, and client-specific solutions.
- Coordinate internally with IP analysts, R&D consultants, and legal teams to deliver client requirements.
- Negotiate and close deals to achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets.
- Represent the company at conferences, IP forums, and networking events.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of Intellectual Property (patents, trademarks, licensing) and/or R&D-driven services.
- Prior experience in B2B business development / client servicing (IP, consulting, R&D services preferred).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and manage complex solution sales.
- Strong research and analytical mindset.
- Self-driven, target-oriented, and adaptable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, or related technical field (preferred).
- MBA / PG in Marketing, International Business, or Strategy (advantageous).
- Certifications in IP/Patent Management, WIPO courses, or Technology Transfer will be an added plus.
