JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly skilled
IT Expert (Server Management & Hosting Specialist)
 to oversee the design, implementation, security, and ongoing management of our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in server hosting, management of on-premises and cloud-based environments, and ensure the smooth functioning of all IT operations including networks, data protection, system availability, and disaster recovery. This role also includes providing enterprise-level support to staff, coordinating IT projects, and maintaining compliance with information security standards.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Server & Hosting Management

  • Install, configure, and administer web servers, application servers, and database servers both on-premises and in the cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or hosting providers).
  • Manage server hosting services, including VPS, dedicated servers, shared hosting, and cloud instances.
  • Optimize server performance, scalability, and uptime; implement load balancing, failover, clustering, and high availability strategies.
  • Monitor server health, performance, logs, and security to ensure business-critical applications run without disruption.
  • Perform server hardening and regular patch management to maintain compliance and security.
  • Manage SSL certificates, DNS, domain registrations, and hosting control panels (e.g., cPanel, Plesk, WHM).

Systems & Networks

  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware, operating systems, and software environments.
  • Monitor and support LAN/WAN, routers, switches, VPNs, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot system, network, and security issues efficiently to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Implement access control measures, antivirus, and endpoint protection across the infrastructure.
  • Backup, Security, and Disaster Recovery
  • Design and manage data backup solutions, disaster recovery plans, and business continuity measures.
  • Ensure compliance with data security regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, ISO, etc. as relevant).
  • Regularly test backup and recovery processes to guarantee business continuity.

Support & Coordination

  • Provide technical support and guidance to employees via phone, email, and onsite assistance.
  • Collaborate with vendors, service providers, and hosting companies for IT purchases, licensing, and technical support.
  • Train staff on IT policies, data protection guidelines, and secure IT usage practices.

Documentation & Governance

  • Create and maintain IT documentation, including SOPs, manuals, knowledge base articles, compliance audits, and IT asset records.
  • Track IT hardware/software inventory and manage IT lifecycle.
  • Ensure timely IT reporting, updates, and performance metrics to management

Requirements:

  • Proven Experience: 2 years of experience in server hosting
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in server management, hosting environments, and IT infrastructure administration.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows Servers, Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu, RHEL), and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox).
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hosting control panels (WHM, cPanel, Plesk).
  • Expertise in network management (LAN, WAN, VPN, firewalls, routers, switches).
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity best practices, server hardening, and compliance standards.
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python preferred)
