Role & responsibilities
The General Manager Marketing (Industrial Products) will be responsible for formulating and executing strategic marketing initiatives to strengthen the company's presence in the industrial market segment. The role requires expertise in B2B marketing, channel development, and product positioning, with a strong focus on market intelligence, customer engagement, and business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Marketing & Business Growth
- Develop and execute marketing strategies to enhance the company's market share in industrial products.
- Conduct industry analysis, competitor benchmarking, and market research to identify new opportunities.
- Work closely with sales & business development teams to design go-to-market strategies for new products and solutions.
Product & Brand Management
- Oversee product positioning, pricing strategies, and value proposition development.
- Drive product launch campaigns, exhibitions, trade shows, and technical seminars.
- Ensure brand consistency across all marketing and communication platforms.
Channel & Customer Engagement
- Strengthen dealer/distributor networks and develop effective channel marketing programs.
- Build and maintain relationships with key industrial customers, consultants, and industry associations.
- Support sales with customized presentations, case studies, and marketing collateral.
Digital & Industrial Marketing
- Develop digital marketing initiatives targeted at industrial buyers and decision-makers.
- Leverage online platforms, technical content, and industry forums to promote products.
- Monitor lead generation and digital campaign ROI.
Team Leadership & Budgeting
- Lead, train, and mentor the marketing team to drive performance and innovation.
- Manage annual marketing budgets with a focus on ROI-driven campaigns.
- Define and track marketing KPIs aligned with business goals.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of industrial markets, B2B sales cycles, and channel management.
- Proven expertise in product marketing, market research, and competitor analysis.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to align technical product features with customer needs.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools and CRM systems.
Qualifications & Experience:
- MBA/PGDM in Marketing (preferred) or equivalent.
- 15–20 years of progressive experience in marketing of industrial products / capital equipment / engineering solutions.
- At least 5 years in a senior marketing leadership role.
- Experience in managing distributors, industrial clients, and large-scale campaigns.
- Strong exposure to industrial exhibitions, B2B events, and technical promotions.
Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Market share growth in targeted industrial segments.
- Lead generation and conversion rate from industrial campaigns.
- Strength of dealer/distributor networks.
- ROI on marketing spends and campaigns.
- Customer acquisition, retention, and satisfaction.
