Job Title: Desktop Technician

Department: IT Support Help Desk

Location: Pune

Reports To: IT Manager

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Desktop Technician to provide support, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, printers, and other hardware or software systems. The ideal candidate will deliver excellent user support and ensure the smooth functioning of all desktop-related IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:Install, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop systems Windows, Mac, Linux.Provide first-level and second-level technical support to users via phone, email, or in person.Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and peripheral issues.Set up and manage user accounts, profiles, and access permissions in Active Directory or equivalent systems.Perform software installations, upgrades, and patch management.Maintain and update inventory of IT equipment and licenses.Assist with hardware repairs, replacements, and coordination with vendors.Ensure compliance with company IT policies and security protocols.Document support activities, resolutions, and procedures.Provide support for remote users and mobile devices (VPN, remote desktop, etc.).Assist in IT onboarding and offboarding processes (setting up new hires, deactivating former employees).

Requirements:

Education & Experience:High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher in IT or a related field preferred.1–3 years of experience in a desktop support or technical support role.

Technical Skills:Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office Suite.Familiarity with Mac OS and mobile device management (MDM).Experience with Active Directory, Exchange, and basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).Knowledge of imaging tools (e.g., SCCM, MDT) and remote support tools (e.g., TeamViewer, Remote Desktop).Basic understanding of IT security principles and antivirus solutions.
