  • Patient assistance (for roles like ambulance or Medi Van drivers): Assist patients with getting in and out of the vehicle and help with gurneys or stretchers when needed.
  • Emergency response (for roles like ambulance drivers): Respond promptly to emergency calls, assist in patient transport, and provide basic medical assistance if trained to do so.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all traffic laws, hospital safety protocols, and organizational policies.

Typical requirements

  • A valid driver's license
  • A clean driving record
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to navigate using maps and GPS
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift patients (especially for roles involving patient transport)
  • Prior experience is often preferred, particularly for roles like ambulance driver
