Job Description:

Regular inspection of chemical storage area as per chemicals compatibility as well as for Loading & Unloading solvents in tanks.

To implement emergency response plans (Onsite Emergency Plan), procedures and evacuation drills.

To implement and verify HIRA and Aspect Impact documents as per EMS. Also, Training provided to all responsible persons. 

Managing external and internal auditors like customer visit, ISO audit for SOP, government audit for different types of license and legal, internal audit from auditor team. 

To implement safety practices as directed by the factory inspectors and instructed in the safety audit.

Preparation of Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for all chemicals, Transport Emergency Card (TREM Card), other required documents and manage the master file

Handling of all Safety & Environmental activities in the plant area and maintain all documentations and records for safety operations procedures.

Filling the statutory requirement & submit to the state pollution control board and factory inspector.

To comply with statutory requirements like pressure vessel testing, inspection and to maintain record. 

Identify site hazards, non-conformance, corrective and preventive actions.

Representing in Safety Committee Meeting & various cross-functional departmental meetings on behalf of department.

Organize Mock Drill periodically to check effectiveness of implementation of onsite emergency plan.

Organize periodic training program for employees and workers as on different subjects like… Safe Chemical Handling, Fire and Safety, Work Permit Procedure, Fire Fighting with Demonstration, Safe Work Method etc…

Organizing safety induction training to new employees and workers.

Safe work permits system developing, training, implementation & ensure that contractor personnel working on the property are in compliance with safety requirements

Documentation of near-miss / incident-accident. Also, implement corrective & preventive action for reduce the same. Making accident investigation team & prepare the investigation report.

Regular visit of warehouses and raise safety concerns and ensure for safety compliance.

Investigate unsafe acts and conditions and provide solutions to prevent recurrences.

Regular check-up and maintenance of fire monitoring systems i.e. Fire Hydrant System, Fire Pump House, Fire Extinguishers, Ambulance & First-Aid Measures etc… 

Celebration of Safety Week, Fire Day, Word Environment Day, PPE Exhibition etc…

Daily inspection and monitoring of tankers for loading and unloading activity, lifting hydra & crane & other heavy vehicles.

Co-facilitated chemical hygiene and hazard communication programs and workshops.

Organize and co-ordinate health check-up as per the regulatory norms and maintain health check-up registers.

Maintain first-aid boxes in factory premises which are readily available and are regularly maintained.

Maintain stock of personal protective equipment

Get the medical check up done for all workers and employees at plant

Any ad-hoc duties assigned.

Desired Profile / Criteria / Skills :

M.Sc in chemistry / industrial Chemistry / Bio-chemistry with PDIS
OR
B.E / B.tech in chemical with PGIS
OR
M.Sc in fire & Safety / Environment with PGIS OR
B.E in Fire & Safery / Environment with PGIS

Atleast 4-5 relevant years
