Long Description Job Summary

This position will support architects in establishing their designs from concept through project completion. Candidates will have a strong knowledge of architectural drafting and detailing of retail interiors. The Architectural Draftsman should be capable of working across and within multi-brand retail and F&B concepts. Reporting to the Architects and Senior Design Manager, he/she should be able to produce quality work and support the designers in the completion of their designs. They will be responsible for producing layouts, sections, and elevations as well as 3D models and renders as required, all while working within strict timelines.

Job Responsibilities
  • Operate AutoCad to produce designs, working drawings, and tender packages
  • Operate 3D Modelling software such as SketchUp or 3D Max and Adobe Photoshop
  • Analyze building codes, by-laws, space and site requirements, and other technical documents and reports to determine their effect on architectural designs
  • Coordinate structural, electrical, and mechanical designs and determine a method of presentation to graphically represent building plans
  • Obtain and assemble data to complete architectural designs, visiting job sites to compile measurements as necessary
  • Layout and space plan arrangements for different buildings and concepts
  • Represent architect on construction site, ensuring builder compliance with design specifications and advising on design corrections under architect's supervision
  • Maintain the filing system of all documents and work within the department's quality standards
  • Conduct site surveys and site architectural supervision, visiting sites based on project needs
Candidate Requirements
  • 5-7 years of experience in architectural, interior, and millwork drafting and detailing
  • Must know how to incorporate/coordinate construction features (including plumbing, electrical, and other mechanicals) into design
  • Must visually interpret verbal instructions and suggestions
  • Able to work independently and as a team member with good communication skills
  • Must have a team-oriented attitude, an attention to detail, and an ability to meet deadlines
  • Able to work under pressure and deliver finished results to deadlines
  • Good, fast, and accurate use of AutoCad, 3D Max/SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Office
Education
  • Bachelors Degree in Architecture
