Job Title: New Product Development Manager

Location: Bangalore

Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary: Lo Foods is looking for a passionate and skilled New Product Development Manager to drive innovation in our product range. The ideal candidate will play a key role in researching, formulating, and optimizing nutritious food products that align with our mission of delivering health-focused, high-quality food solutions.

This role will also ensure compliance with food regulations, enhance consumer education, and support marketing strategies with scientific insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Nutritional Research & Analysis

  2. Conduct in-depth research on functional ingredients, emerging food trends, and their nutritional benefits.

  3. Analyze dietary patterns and consumer preferences to refine product development strategies.

  4. Assess the health impact of Lo Foods' products and recommend improvements.

  5. Product Development & Formulation

  6. Collaborate with the R&D team to develop and optimize innovative, nutrient-rich food products.

  7. Sensory evaluation skills to assess taste, texture, aroma, etc
  8. Ensure formulations align with dietary guidelines, clean-label requirements, and regulatory standards.
  9. Enhance nutritional value while maintaining taste, texture, and shelf-life stability.

  10. Writing product specifications, process SOPs, and maintaining development records.

  11. Regulatory Compliance & Documentation

  12. Ensure full compliance with FSSAI regulatory requirements.

  13. Assist in developing accurate nutrition labels and health claims as per regulatory guidelines.

  14. Maintain comprehensive records of research findings and product formulations.

  15. Consumer Education & Communication

  16. Provide scientific and nutritional support for marketing claims, product positioning, and branding.

  17. Develop engaging nutrition content for product packaging, websites, and promotional campaigns.

  18. Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions to educate internal teams and external stakeholders.

  19. Operational Efficiency

  20. Implement strategies to streamline product research, testing, and development cycles.

  21. Work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance research and innovation efficiency.

  22. Costing & Commercial Viability:

  23. Basic understanding of costings, pricing strategy, and feasibility analysis.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science, or a related field.
  • Experience of 3-4 years in food product development, research, or regulatory compliance in an FMCG Company or manufacturing plant.
  • Working knowledge of FSSAI guidelines, clean-label requirements, and food labeling regulations.
  • Strong ability to analyze, interpret, and present nutritional data.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets, Excel, and research tools for data management and analysis.
