Job Description: Assistant Manager – HR (Plant Safety, Manpower & HR Operations)

Location: Achettipalli (village),Kelamangalam road, Hosur –
Salary Range: ₹50,000 – ₹60,000 per month
Shift: Rotational (Day & Night)
Role Overview
The Assistant Manager – HR (Plant Safety & Manpower Management) will be responsible for implementing plant safety programs, ensuring statutory compliance, and managing manpower requirements across all shifts. The role demands hands-on involvement in safety audits, incident investigations, and workforce planning to ensure smooth production operations and a safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities1. Plant Safety & Compliance (Primary Responsibility)
- Monitor daily plant safety activities across day & night shifts.
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments regularly.
- Ensure compliance with Factory Act, EHS guidelines, and statutory safety norms.
- Investigate incidents/near misses, prepare reports, and implement corrective measures.
2. Manpower Planning & Handling
- Plan and allocate manpower for all shifts to meet production targets.
- Coordinate with contractors/vendors for timely supply of contract labour.
- Monitor absenteeism, overtime, and optimize workforce utilization.
- Ensure quick resolution of workforce-related issues to prevent disruption in operations.
- Support skill mapping and upskilling of manpower for critical operations.
3. Employee Engagement & Welfare
- Promote a culture of safety and discipline among employees.
- Address grievances related to safety, working conditions, and welfare.
4. HR Operations & Compliance
- Manage attendance, leave, and shift scheduling.
- Prepare and share HR & safety MIS reports with management.
5. Recruitment & Training
- Recruit skilled manpower with focus on safety awareness and reliability.
- Conduct safety induction training for all new joiners.
- Plan and execute training calendars for safety, technical skills, and behavioural development.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Expertise in plant safety protocols, EHS compliance, and labour law.
- Strong manpower planning and deployment skills.
- Good leadership and communication skills to handle a large workforce.
- Ability to work effectively in day/night rotational shifts.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, HRMS, and safety reporting tools.
Educational Qualification & Experience
- Qualification: Graduate/MBA/PGDM in HR / MSW + Safety Certification
- Experience: 4–7 years in HR operations with strong exposure to plant safety and manpower management.
- Experience in automobile or heavy manufacturing industry preferred.
