About the Role

We are looking for a skilled DWDM NOC Engineer with hands-on experience in Nokia DWDM devices, particularly PSS platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong exposure to network monitoring, troubleshooting, and software upgrades in a live environment, ensuring high availability and reliability of the optical transport network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, manage, and troubleshoot DWDM/OTN networks with Nokia PSS devices.
  • Perform proactive fault analysis, troubleshooting, and escalation to ensure minimum downtime.
  • Execute software upgrades/patch management on Nokia DWDM platforms with minimal service impact.
  • Handle incident, problem, and change management in line with NOC processes.
  • Support network capacity planning, performance analysis, and optimization.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, MOPs, and reports.
  • Work in coordination with vendors, L2/L3 teams, and field engineers for fault resolution.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 37 years of hands-on experience working on Nokia DWDM devices (PSS series).
  • Strong knowledge of DWDM/OTN technologies, optical layer, and transport protocols.
  • Practical experience in software upgrades, release management, and configuration.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (NMS/EMS).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of incident/change management processes (ITIL preferred).
  • Good communication and coordination skills.

Nice to Have

  • Vendor certifications in Nokia Optical/DWDM technologies.
  • Experience in working with multi-vendor optical transport networks.
  • Exposure to automation and scripting for NOC operations.
