In-depth knowledge of hospital billing processes (IPD/OPD/Cashless/TPA/Corporate)
Strong understanding of ICD/CPT coding, insurance claim workflows, and medical terminology
Hands-on experience with Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and billing software (e.g., Mediware, Insta, etc.)
Familiarity with statutory compliance such as GST, TDS, and NABH/NABL standards
Excellent team leadership and people management skills
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
Good communication and stakeholder management skills
Proficiency in MS Excel, billing reports, and dashboards Good Have Skills :
knowledge and expertise with Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) analytics tools or dashboards
Roles and Responsibilities :
Supervise and manage the hospital billing team and daily billing operations.
Oversee IPD/OPD billing, cashless processing, corporate and TPA billing.
Monitor and ensure timely and accurate generation of patient bills, discharge summaries, and claim submissions.
Review and validate high-value bills before final approval and dispatch.
Coordinate with clinical, pharmacy, and diagnostic departments for accurate documentation and service capture.
Ensure compliance with internal billing policies, NABH guidelines, and regulatory standards.
Collaborate with TPA and insurance desk teams for pre-authorization, follow-up, and settlement.
Handle patient escalations, billing disputes, and ensure satisfactory resolution.
Track billing KPIs (e.g., Average Billing Turnaround Time, Billing Error Rate, Denial Rate) and drive performance improvements.
Implement billing process improvements and automation where applicable.
Train and mentor billing staff on protocols, new regulations, and systems.
Conduct periodic audits of billing files and documentation for accuracy.
