Position: Quantity Surveyor (BOQ Formation)

Location: Camp, Pune

Experience: 4+ Years

Department: Project Management / Cost Control

Reports To: Senior Architect

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor with expertise in BOQ (Bill of Quantities) formation and project estimation for construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of experience in preparing BOQs, cost estimation, and construction project costing within established organizations. The Quantity Surveyor will play a crucial role in managing project costs, estimating quantities, and ensuring that projects are delivered within budget and schedule constraints.

Key Responsibilities:


• BOQ Preparation & Cost Estimation:


• To prepare a budgetary estimate at design proposal stage.


• Detail BOQ preparation and cost estimation.


• Co-ordinate with purchase and execution team to co-relate the quantities.


• Prepare accurate and comprehensive BOQs for construction projects, including master planning, clubhouses, and sports facilities.


• Conduct detailed cost estimation and analysis for construction projects based on drawings, specifications, and project scope.


• Work closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to verify and assess quantities, materials, and labor requirements.

Quantity Take-offs:


• Perform accurate quantity take-offs from drawings and project specifications for various construction elements.


• Review architectural and structural drawings to extract quantities for materials, labor, and other construction-related activities.

Software Use & Reporting:


• Use advanced estimation and project management software to track costs, prepare reports, and generate cost analysis data.


• Maintain and update project cost data in estimation and project management software.


• Provide periodic cost reports to senior management and project teams, ensuring transparency and clarity regarding budget and expenditures.

Key Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum 4 years of experience in preparing BOQs and cost estimation for construction projects with an established organization.

Experience in preparing and managing BOQs for commercial buildings, sports amenities, and clubhouses is highly desirable.

Skills & Expertise:


• Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., CostX, WinQS, Bluebeam, or other relevant software) for BOQ preparation and cost analysis.


• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Procore, Builder trend, or similar).


• Basic understanding of AutoCAD for extracting quantities and interpreting design drawings for accurate cost estimation.


• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in cost estimation and budgeting.


• Understanding of construction methods, materials, and processes.


• Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) drawings for accurate quantity take-offs.

Additional Skills (Preferred):


• Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) for integrated quantity surveying.


• Knowledge of international cost standards, construction codes, and regulations.


• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
