Virtual Builder – Project Engineer – Concrete and Rebar

vConstruct, a Pune based Construction Technology company seeks process-oriented individuals with academic or professional background in Civil Engineering/ Structural Engineering/ Construction Management for the role of Project Engineer – Concrete and Rebar.

Key Responsibilities:

Accountable to create high quality deliverables and outputs on schedule, act independently to manage the assigned work and deliverables, work closely with Project lead to plan project implementation.

Indicative responsibilities include:

1. Carefully study project documents - drawings, details, RFIs and addendums. Identify missing information, discrepancies and constructability issues.

2. Develop high quality, accurate 3D models for concrete, rebar using Tekla software and apply knowledge of Cast in place concrete systems and constructability.

3. Develop high quality, accurate 2D drawings for concrete, rebar using Tekla software and apply knowledge of Cast in place concrete systems and constructability.

4. Knowledge of developing high quality 3D models and 2D drawings for structural steel and miscellaneous steel using Tekla software would be a plus.

5. Participate in trade coordination meetings to identify and incorporate changes in models. Knowledge of AutoCAD and Navisworks is a plus.

6. Create field and fabrication deliverables like Fabrication drawings, BBS, Bill of Materials, CNC and Machine Files, Assembly & Erection drawings, Reports

7. Check the quality of work for accuracy before submissions to client teams. Meet quality metrics established for project.

8. Familiarity with construction practices and sequencing related to concrete, rebar, structural steel and miscellaneous steel installation.

9. Model set up in Tekla.

10. Communicate with client regarding project deliverables. Most client meetings will happen between 5 PM and 10 PM IST.

11. Understanding of BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and LOD requirements.

12. Research new features in tools and explore automation to improve current workflows.

Desired Qualifications and Qualities:

Successful candidates in this role will be flexible, detail-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines.

The successful candidate will possess:

1. Passion for construction processes, BIM and construction technology.

2. Over 2 years of hands-on experience in working in Tekla Structures for modeling and drawing generation, drawing template settings and custom components.

3. Strong communication skills. Experience with client relationship management a plus.

4. Knowledge of rebar process includes design, procurement, fabrication and installation using BIM / VDC processes for Cast in place and precast structures.

5. Strong understanding of reinforced concrete detailing principles and US rebar standards (ACI, CRSI). Knowledge of structural steel and miscellaneous steel, standards and codes would be a plus. (AISC, AWS, ASTM)

6. Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
