Job Description for the role of a Principal/Head of Institution (LWS)

Job Description: Principal (ICSE School)

We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and visionary leader to serve as the Principal of our esteemed ICSE school. The ideal candidate will be an academician with a proven track record of excellence in educational administration and a deep understanding of the ICSE curriculum and ethos. The Principal will be responsible for providing academic and administrative leadership to the entire school community, fostering a culture of holistic growth, and upholding the school's mission and values.

LODHA WORLD SCHOOL

  1. Administrative and Operational Management

Responsible for daily operations of the school, including timetables, admissions, discipline, and infrastructure utilization.

Provide a safe and nurturing environment to the students

Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, CISCE regulations, and safety protocols.

Prepare annual budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure financial prudence.

Oversee recruitment, training, and appraisal of staff members.

  1. Staff development

Identifying training needs of the staff in terms of areas of improvement and in terms of potential.

Ensuring fulfilment of the training needs through consultation with the School Management Committee

Designing and implementing a system for orienting and mentoring teachers with the school ethos, vision, philosophy, organization structure, discipline issues, class management techniques, creative teaching, ways of interacting with parents during PTM

Conducting staff confirmation reviews, appraisals and promotions

Introducing global best practices in terms of pedagogies and training teachers in taking these to the classroom effectively

  1. Manpower planning

Projecting the manpower requirements of the school

Oversee the entire recruitment process- Conducting the recruitment process from screening the resumes, meeting the candidates, observing the demos and coordinating the final interview

Managing and limiting the attrition rate of resources to the minimum

  1. Administration

Oversee administrative functioning of the school

Ensure all SOPs are in place for smooth functioning and safety of students

Liase with central administration team for requirements and budget projections for the academic year

Planning and ensuring smooth implementation of all processes involved

Positive school environment

Maintain clear communication across all stakeholders

Ensure teachers/staff understand the philosophy and values the school stands for and are able to imbibe them into the students as well.

Develop a collaborative culture amongst everyone at the school.

LODHA WORLD SCHOOL

  1. Students/Admissions

Managing pupil/parent interactions such as dealing with student progress and adjustment

Guidance and counselling in case of areas requiring Principal's intervention and handling pupil/parent/teacher relationships

Ensuring that the Student Council is mentored properly and its meetings happen regularly

Preparing and planning the process of admission and ensure the smooth delivery of the same.

Ensuring admissions numbers are largely in line with the annual plan

  1. Parent Forums and Meetings

Managing the relationship with parents and ensuring active engagement of the parent community, through open houses, parent-led associations etc.

Ensuring bi-annual feedback is collected from the parents and redressal strategies/plan is communicated to the management

  1. Branding initiatives

Ensure all branding collaterals are updated/prepared in a timely manner

Ensure that the ethos of the branding reflects across all touchpoints of the school and is truly understood by all stakeholders.

  1. Review and monitoring

Ensure KPIs for all staff are set in accordance with the vision and priorities of the school

Conduct performance reviews of all departments for the smooth functioning of the school

Ensure proper feedback is given to all staff – and reflects in the performance

Required Qualifications and Skills

  1. Education

A Master's Degree in a relevant academic subject.

A B.Ed. or M.Ed. is mandatory.

A Ph.D. is often desirable.

  1. Experience

Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in the field of education.

At least 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role, such as Principal or Vice-Principal, in a reputed ICSE school.
