Technical Sales Manager / Sales Executive - Paints & Coatings Raw Materials (Title may vary based on seniority)Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and technically proficient sales professional to drive the sales and business development of our specialty chemical raw materials within the paints, coatings, inks, and adhesives industries. The ideal candidate will leverage their understanding of coating formulations to provide value-added solutions to clients, manage key accounts, and expand our market presence. Key Responsibilities
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new sales opportunities in B2B markets, expanding the customer base across the assigned territory.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients, including manufacturers, formulators, and distributors.
- Technical Support & Consultation: Provide expert technical support, conduct product trials, perform troubleshooting, and recommend suitable product grades based on customer formulation requirements and application needs.
- Sales Strategy & Target Achievement: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet and exceed monthly/quarterly sales targets and revenue goals.
- Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to provide market insights and identify unique selling propositions.
- Coordination & Reporting: Coordinate with internal teams (R&D, logistics, supply chain, marketing) and external suppliers/principals to ensure seamless order execution and product development.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and sales pipelines using CRM software.
- Industry Engagement: Represent the company at industry exhibitions, trade fairs, and technical seminars to promote products and network with industry professionals.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or a related field (Paint Technology degree is a plus).
- Experience: Proven experience (minimum 2-5 years, depending on role seniority) in technical sales, business development, or application support within the paints & coatings, inks, or specialty chemicals industry.
- Product Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of raw materials such as resins (binders), pigments, solvents, and additives (dispersing agents, defoamers, etc.) used in various coatings formulations.
Skills:
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and technical acumen.
- Proficiency in using CRM software and MS Office.
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the assigned territory.
