Key Responsibilities

The Purchase Heads role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities critical to the successful procurement function:

  • Project Planning and Execution: The Purchase Head is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing procurement projects from initiation to completion. They ensure that all procurement activities are executed efficiently, meeting quality standards and delivery timelines.

  • Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: This role involves addressing complex procurement challenges, such as supplier issues, cost overruns, or quality concerns. The Purchase Head must make strategic decisions to mitigate risks and optimize procurement outcomes.

  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: The Purchase Head collaborates with departments across the organization, including operations, finance, and supply chain, to align procurement strategies with overall business objectives.

  • Process Improvement and Innovation: The Purchase Head drives process improvements and innovation in procurement practices. They identify opportunities to streamline processes, implement best practices, and leverage technology for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Technical or Customer-Facing Responsibilities: Depending on the organization, the Purchase Head may have technical responsibilities related to procurement systems, vendor management platforms, or customer negotiations. They represent the procurement function in dealings with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Minimum 15 years of procurement experience in real estate or construction
  • Proven experience handling high-rise buildings, residential & commercial projects
  • Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, etc
  • Strong communication skills written & spoken English
  • Ability to manage vendor networks, contracts, and documentation independently
