Brief Summary

This position requires strong leadership skills, extensive market knowledge, and the ability to drive sales growth. The Regional Business Manager will be responsible for collaborating with the Retail Operations Head and other stakeholders to develop and implement strategies that align with the company's objectives. This role also involves managing a team of Area Business Managers (ABMs) and ensuring their performance aligns with organizational goals.

Brief Job Description (just an indicative list and not limited to the following)

  1. Provide inputs to the Retail Operations Head to develop the annual plan and budget for the zone.

  2. Collaborate in setting sales targets for the zone, including Retail, Scheme, and EMI sales pillars.

  3. Make necessary modifications to sales targets based on market conditions and business requirements.

  4. Oversee the implementation and cascading of new offers and schemes across the zone.

  5. Monitor the effectiveness of offers and schemes in driving sales and provide feedback for improvements.

  6. Provide inputs for the selection of new markets and the development of new store plans as per business requirements.

  7. Conduct market research to identify potential growth opportunities and make strategic recommendations.

  8. Collate daily and monthly sales reports from the ABMs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  9. Review and track actual sales numbers against planned targets, identifying gaps and proposing solutions.

  10. Utilize data analytics to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for sales improvement.

  11. Provide inputs to modify ideal stock levels required at stores based on sales trends and customer demand.

  12. Collaborate with relevant teams to optimize inventory management processes.

  13. Approve additional discounts within set limits and address escalated queries effectively.

  14. Provide final approvals for hiring Individual Contributors (ICs) and Team Leaders (TLs) after reviewing recommendations.

  15. Demonstrate deep expertise in market and consumer trends within the retail or allied sectors.

  16. Stay updated with industry developments, competitor activities, and emerging market trends.

  17. Coordinate local area activities and exhibitions to enhance brand visibility and customer engagement.

  18. Address customer grievances promptly and ensure satisfactory resolution.

  19. Lead and manage a team of approximately 15-17 Assistant Business Managers (ABMs).

  20. Set performance expectations, provide coaching and guidance, and conduct performance evaluations.

  21. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.

Desired Skills

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.

  2. Minimum of 14 years of experience in leading sales for a zone/region in the retail or allied sectors.

  3. Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.

  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

  6. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently in a dynamic environment.

  7. Leadership skills to motivate and inspire a team towards achieving goals.

  8. Proficiency in using sales software, CRM tools, and MS Office suite.
