Job Summary:
The SEO Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing search engine optimization (SEO) strategies that increase the visibility of the company's website across both traditional search engines and AI-driven platforms. The goal is to drive organic traffic, enhance brand presence, and improve conversion rates. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SEO, strong analytical skills, and a forward-looking mindset toward how AI impacts content discovery.
Key Responsibilities
SEO Strategy Development
- Develop and implement SEO strategies to improve organic visibility and search engine rankings.
- Define and monitor key SEO KPIs, and report on performance regularly.
Keyword Research & Optimization
- Conduct keyword research to identify opportunities and optimize content accordingly.
- Collaborate with content and marketing teams to ensure effective keyword targeting across web pages and blog articles.
On-Page Optimization
- Optimize page titles, meta descriptions, headers, URL structures, and internal linking.
- Implement structured data (schema markup) to support enhanced visibility in search and AI-powered results.
Off-Page SEO Management
- Execute link-building strategies to improve domain authority.
- Manage relationships with bloggers, publishers, and other external partners for digital PR and outreach.
Technical SEO
- Work with developers to ensure best practices for page speed, mobile usability, crawlability, and indexation.
- Conduct routine technical audits and resolve site-related SEO issues.
Analytics & Reporting
- Monitor performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, and others.
- Provide actionable insights based on data trends, user behavior, and performance reports.
AI & Search Engine Discovery
- Understand how AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Bing Copilot, Google SGE) source and present website content.
- Optimize content and structure to improve discoverability across AI-powered platforms.
- Implement strategies (e.g., schema, FAQ content, topic clustering) to influence AI-generated summaries and rich snippets.
Competitor & Market Analysis
- Track competitors' SEO strategies, backlink profiles, and content gaps.
- Identify new content and optimization opportunities to maintain a competitive edge.
Collaboration
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, content, and development.
- Ensure SEO is integrated into all digital initiatives, campaigns, and site updates.
Staying Updated
- Keep up to date with changes in search engine algorithms, AI advancements, and digital marketing trends.
- Test and adopt new SEO techniques aligned with emerging technologies and user behaviour.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, IT, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 6 years of hands-on SEO experience.
- Experience managing SEO for a large-scale, content-driven, or eCommerce website is preferred.
Skills
- Deep understanding of search engine algorithms and ranking factors.
- Proficiency with SEO tools (Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, etc.).
- Familiarity with structured data, schema markup, and AI search optimization techniques.
- Awareness of how generative AI platforms interact with and display web content.
- Basic knowledge of CMS platforms such as Shopify.
- Ability to analyze technical issues related to HTML, CSS, and JavaScript from an SEO perspective.
- Strong analytical, project management, and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
