Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed shop drawings for fire-fighting systems (sprinkler system, hydrant system, pump room layout, hose reels, fire extinguishers, and clean agent systems if applicable).
  • Develop fire alarm and detection system layouts in coordination with ELV teams.
  • Create schematic diagrams, pump room layouts, riser diagrams, and zoning drawings.
  • Prepare as-built drawings after project completion.
  • Update all drawings as per site changes, engineer comments, and consultant instructions.
  • Coordinate with fire protection engineers and site execution teams for design inputs and clarifications.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with NFPA standards, NBC norms, local fire authority regulations, and hospital-specific safety requirements.
  • Follow company drafting standards, layering systems, and documentation control procedures.
  • Verify dimensions, pipe sizes, equipment spacing, and technical details before submission.
  • Ensure all revisions and markups are incorporated promptly.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • ITI/Diploma in Draftsmanship or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2-4 years of experience as a Fire Protection Draftsman in an MEP contracting company.
  • Good understanding of fire-fighting systems including sprinklers, hydrants, standpipes, fire pumps, clean agent systems, and fire alarm systems.
  • Ability to interpret design drawings, specifications, and coordination layouts.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
