The Hardware Asset Manager is responsible for the complete life cycle management of the organizations IT hardware assets.

This includes procurement planning, inventory control, deployment, maintenance, compliance, and retirement of all hardware

assets to optimize cost, performance, and risk.

Key Responsibilities

Asset Lifecycle Management

Develop and maintain an accurate hardware asset inventory (endpoints, servers, network devices, peripherals, etc.).

Oversee the full lifecycle from procurement to decommissioning, ensuring all assets are properly tracked and tagged.

Implement standardized processes for acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and disposal.

Monitor hardware performance and usage to optimize asset utilization.

Governance & Compliance

Ensure adherence to internal asset management policies, SLAs, and external regulatory requirements.

Maintain documentation for audits (licenses, warranties, insurance, certificates of disposal).

Manage data security and compliance for decommissioned assets.

Financial & Vendor Management

Work with procurement to forecast hardware needs and budget.

Evaluate and negotiate with vendors for purchasing and maintenance contracts.

Track hardware costs, depreciation, and ROI; prepare periodic reports for management.

Operations & Support

Coordinate with IT support teams for hardware deployments, upgrades, and repairs.

Plan hardware refresh cycles and rollouts across sites.

Ensure timely maintenance, AMC (annual maintenance contract), and warranty management.

Tools & Reporting

Manage and improve the asset management system (ERP/CMDB).

Generate dashboards and reports on hardware inventory, usage, and compliance.

Team & Stakeholder Coordination

Liaise with Finance, IT, Security, and Operations teams for asset-related requirements.

Train staff on hardware asset policies and procedures.

Skills & Qualifications

Bachelors degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.

4-8 years experience in hardware asset management, IT inventory control, or IT operations.

Hands-on experience with IT Asset Management (ITAM) or Configuration Management Database (CMDB) tools.

Strong knowledge of hardware lifecycle, procurement, and vendor management.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to work across multiple locations and manage large-scale rollouts.
