Job Description:

An Operations Manager plays a critical role in managing the supply chain and procurement process, ensuring that the right materials and services are available on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and sustainability standards. This role requires strong negotiation skills, market knowledge, and the ability to balance cost considerations with quality and ethical standards.

  1. Strategic Procurement Planning: Develop and execute the procurement strategy for the EPC division, aligning it with the company's overall objectives and project requirements. This includes setting procurement goals and objectives.

  2. Vendor and Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors based on criteria such as cost, quality, reliability, and sustainability. Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions.

  3. Procurement Budget: Prepare and manage the procurement budget, monitoring expenses and cost-control measures. Ensure adherence to budgetary constraints while maintaining quality standards.

  4. Supply Chain Optimization: Streamline and optimize the supply chain process to minimize lead times, reduce costs, and improve project efficiency. Monitor and track the performance of suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.

  5. Material and Equipment Sourcing: To source and purchase materials, equipment, and components required for solar projects. Maintain a network of reliable suppliers and explore new sources.

  6. Contract Management: Manage contracts and agreements with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions. Handle contract negotiations and resolve contractual disputes as needed.

  7. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure that procured materials and equipment meet specified standards and quality requirements. Implement quality control processes within the procurement function.

  8. Cost Analysis and Savings: Analyse costs, market trends, and pricing structures to identify opportunities for cost savings and cost avoidance. Develop strategies to reduce procurement expenses without compromising quality.

  9. Risk Management: Identify and assess procurement-related risks and develop risk mitigation strategies. This includes evaluating the financial stability and reliability of suppliers.

  10. Compliance and Ethics: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including environmental and ethical considerations. Promote sustainable and responsible procurement practices.

  11. Inventory Management: Implement effective inventory management practices to optimize stock levels, reduce excess inventory, and minimize storage costs.

  12. Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, invoices, and supplier contracts. Prepare regular procurement reports for senior management.

  13. Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors. Foster collaboration, communication, and strategic partnerships to enhance procurement effectiveness.

  14. Continuous Improvement: Seek opportunities for process improvement and automation within the procurement / Operation function. Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in procurement.

  15. Emergency Procurement Planning: Develop contingency plans for emergency procurement situations to ensure project continuity in the event of unexpected material shortages or delays.
