In India, we operate as Next Gear India Private Limited, a fully-owned subsidiary of Cotality with offices in Kolkata, West Bengal, and Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Next Gear India Private Limited plays a vital role in Cotality's Product Development capabilities, focusing on creating and delivering innovative solutions for the Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance and Property Restoration industries.

We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer with strong expertise in automated testing using .NET and Playwright , along with solid experience in API/Web Service testing, SQL, and performance testing . The ideal candidate is a self-motivated analytical thinker who takes ownership of issues and drives them to resolution.

The candidate should be excited about developing, documenting, and executing tests to ensure the delivery of a quality business application software product.

Job Description:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, build, and execute automated test scripts using .NET and Playwright (JS).
• Perform API/Web Service testing and SQL -based database validation.
• Conduct performance testing using tools like JMeter.
• Maintain and update automated and manual regression suites.
• Analyze daily pipeline runs and perform root cause analysis of failed automated cases.
• Conduct thorough PR reviews by providing actionable suggestions and feedback to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices.
• Raise, verify, and retest bugs.
• Conduct release testing.
• Collaborate with development teams and product owners to convert business requirements and design documents into test plans and test cases/scripts.
• Communicate defects clearly and concisely and validate bug fixes.
• Troubleshoot issues effectively using logs to identify root causes and rapidly triage technical issues.
• Work directly with other members of the engineering team to develop in-depth knowledge of solutions.
• Raise timely awareness about any discovered issues and work collaboratively with other teams to develop remedies.

Job Qualifications:

REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

• Experience with automated testing for APIs (C#) and for web applications using Playwright or other JS-based frameworks.
• Knowledge of software development principles , including SOLID, KISS, DRY , etc., and the ability to effectively implement and follow them in code.
• Experience testing microservices/distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Azure Test Plans and experience running pipelines in Azure DevOps .
• Solid knowledge of SDLC , Agile methodologies, and QA workflows.
• Expertise in test design techniques and decomposing requirements into test cases.
• Experience with white-box/black-box testing and RESTful API testing .
• Experience with Postman for API testing.
• Experience in performance testing ( Jmeter ).
• Experience with Database validation ( CosmosDB ) using SQL, KQL.
• Familiarity with Azure cloud environ ments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills with a focus on deadlines and deliverables.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to provide occasional after-hours test and/or deployment support.
• Experience testing cross-platform mobile apps (iOS and Android) - Nice to have.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

• 7+ years previous experience in a Software Quality Assurance Tester position or equivalent
• 7+ years of test plan design, maintenance and developing test cases based upon system specifications documentation
• 7+ years manual functional/regression testing design and execution experience
• 7+ years experience creating and executing automated test scripts

Bachelor Degree in Computer Sci
