Role & responsibilities

  • Assist the project engineering team during the design phase, including preparing SLDs, wiring diagrams, and equipment layouts, ensuring practical feasibility during implementation.
  • Responsible for selecting appropriate Current Transformers (CTs) and Potential Transformers (PTs) based on system requirements such as load, accuracy class, and burden. Plan and ensure correct placement within LT/HT motor panels for reliable metering and protection.
  • Collaborate with the site execution team to oversee the proper installation, wiring, and testing of CTs/PTs, Multifunction meters and ensure compliance with project standards and safety guidelines.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Knowledge of LT and HT motor panel design and their operation
  • Proficient in the selection, sizing, and placement of CTs and PTs based on system parameters (voltage, current, burden, accuracy class)
  • Knowledge of CT ratios, accuracy classes (e.g., 0.2s, 0.5), burden calculation, and safety considerations
  • Experience in mounting CTs/PTs in panels for metering, protection relays, and energy monitoring systems (MFM)
  • Skilled in LT (415V) and HT (up to 11kV/33kV) motor control panel work including VFD, Soft Starters, and MCCs
  • Familiar with relay coordination, panel testing (primary/secondary injection), and cable termination practices
  • Able to interpret and modify SLDs, GA drawings, and wiring diagrams
  • Good understanding of IS/IEC standards, electrical safety, and earthing practices
  • Strong troubleshooting ability and on-site execution coordination
