Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced
Kafka Architect
with deep expertise in designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-scale
event streaming platforms
. The ideal candidate will have
12+ years of overall IT experience
, with at least
5+ years of hands-on experience in Apache Kafka architecture and implementation
. This role requires strong technical leadership, architectural design, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver highly scalable, fault-tolerant, and secure streaming solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the
    design, architecture, and implementation
    of enterprise-scale event streaming solutions using
    Apache Kafka
    .
  • Define
    Kafka architecture patterns
    , governance standards, and best practices for scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into
    Kafka-based streaming solutions
    .
  • Oversee
    Kafka cluster design, configuration, and optimization
    , ensuring high availability and disaster recovery.
  • Define and implement
    security policies
    , access controls, and monitoring solutions for Kafka environments.
  • Guide development teams in implementing
    producers, consumers, connectors, and stream processing applications
    .
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement
    CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and automated deployment
    of Kafka solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing sessions for engineering teams.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to
    Kafka performance, scalability, and integration
    .

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 12+ years of IT experience
    with strong expertise in
    distributed systems and enterprise application architecture
    .
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Apache Kafka
    (architecture, cluster design, deployment, and administration).
  • Deep understanding of
    Kafka internals
    (brokers, topics, partitions, replication, offsets, Zookeeper/KRaft).
  • Strong experience with
    Kafka Connect, Kafka Streams, and Schema Registry
    .
  • Expertise in
    event-driven architecture (EDA)
    and microservices-based integrations.
  • Proficiency in
    Java and/or Scala
    for developing streaming applications.
  • Hands-on experience with
    cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
    and managed Kafka services (Confluent Cloud, MSK).
  • Strong knowledge of
    DevOps tools
    (Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform).
  • Solid understanding of
    security (SSL, SASL, Kerberos, RBAC)
    and compliance in Kafka environments.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
