We are seeking a dynamic and experienced AGM/ Senior Manager Logistics to lead all India transportation operations for one of the BU and manage fleet partners across regions. The role is a team management role and requires hands-on expertise in managing on time placement of vehicles, vendor onboarding, negotiations, and ensuring high operational efficiency in a fast-paced, high-volume logistics environment. Prior experience in the steel or manufacturing logistics sector is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the transportation and fleet operations pan-India, ensuring timely and cost-effective vehicle placement for deliveries.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans for fleet optimization, including owned, attached, and market vehicles.
  • Drive vendor identification, onboarding, rate negotiation, and performance evaluation for regional and national transport partners.
  • Ensure SLA adherence, route optimization, and effective turnaround time (TAT) for all logistics legs (First Mile, Middle Mile, Last Mile).
  • Collaborate with sales, warehouse, and planning teams to forecast logistics demand and align fleet resources accordingly.
  • Monitor operational KPIs such as OTIF, vehicle utilization, cost per km/ton, detention charges, delivery reliability, and fuel efficiency.
  • Resolve on-ground issues related to fleet shortages, delivery disruptions, and route compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, vehicle documentation, driver behavior protocols, and insurance norms.
  • Leverage transport management systems (TMS) and data tools to analyze trends, track performance, and initiate process improvements.
  • Design and implement SOPs for vendor engagement, billing processes, and grievance redressal.

Key Requirements:

  • 1215 years of experience in logistics/fleet management, with at least 3–4 years in a leadership role managing multi-location transportation.
  • Deep knowledge of regional and national freight markets, trucking ecosystems, and fleet behavior across sectors.
  • Proven expertise in vendor negotiations, onboarding processes, and cost optimization.
  • Strong analytical skills with hands-on experience in MS Excel, TMS platforms, and reporting dashboards.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills—both internal and external.
  • Ability to lead a diverse team including fleet supervisors, vendor partners, and on-ground transport staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline (Engineering/Commerce preferred).
  • MBA in Supply Chain / Operations Management is an added advantage.
  • Exposure to steel, heavy goods, or infra-related transportation/logistics is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements for commercial vehicle operations across states.
