Key Responsibilities

  • Answer and manage incoming patient calls and email enquiries with professionalism and empathy.
  • Schedule, confirm and coordinate patient appointments, follow-ups, and procedures.
  • Maintain and update the practice diary and records accurately.
  • Prepare and process medical documentation, correspondence, and reports.
  • Liaise with insurance companies regarding patient cover, authorisations, and claim submissions.
  • Follow up on outstanding claims and patient payments.
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers, laboratories and other relevant parties when needed.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with GDPR and relevant medical regulations.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a medical secretary, administrative assistant or similar role in a healthcare setting in UK.
  • Knowledge of UK private medical insurance procedures and claims processing.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with medical practice management software.
  • Professional, discreet and patient focused approach.
  • Experience working in a private medical practice in UK.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
