Job Title: Data Governance Consultant (Banking Domain)

Location:  Offshore India – Bangalore (Remote/Hybrid as applicable)

Type: 6-month Contract

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled 
Data Management & Governance Specialist
 with strong experience in the 
banking and financial services industry
. The role requires expertise in implementing and managing 
data governance policies, tools, and frameworks
 while working closely with business stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance, high data quality, and adoption of enterprise-wide data standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business units to embed and adopt data standards and facilitate effective data stewardship.
  • Implement and support data governance initiatives using tools such as Informatica Axon, EDC (Enterprise Data Catalog), DEQ.
  • Drive the execution of data strategy roadmaps across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with data management policies and procedures, especially within regulated banking environments.
  • Provide oversight on large data management engagements, including production go-lives and governance decision-making.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand business data needs and translate them into effective governance solutions.
  • Support BAU (Business-As-Usual) data processes, acting as a Data Steward to maintain data quality.
  • Facilitate cross-functional communication by simplifying complex data concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Accounting & Finance, or a related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.

Experience:

  • 8–10.9 years total professional experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Data Management and Data Governance within the banking/financial services industry.
  • Experience in data management tools & frameworks, with expertise in Informatica Axon, EDC, DEQ.
  • Prior experience as a Data Steward preferred.
  • Exposure to large-scale data governance engagements including production go-live oversight.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of banking processes, systems, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive governance initiatives.
  • Self-starter with proven initiative and relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).

Preferred Background

  • Prior experience in the banking or financial services domain.
  • Deep knowledge of domain-specific data governance needs.
