The
SAP MDG Data Governance Consultant
will be responsible for implementing, configuring, and maintaining SAP S/4HANA Master Data Governance solutions. The role involves working closely with business and technical teams to ensure data integrity, compliance, and governance across enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in SAP MDG, ABAP development, and data management principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and support SAP S/4HANA Master Data Governance (MDG) solutions.
  • Develop and enhance MDG data models, governance processes, and workflows.
  • Perform ABAP Object-Oriented Programming, Web Dynpro, and Workflow customization for MDG applications.
  • Work with IDOCs, BRF+ (Business Rules Framework), and data model enhancements to support governance needs.
  • Collaborate with business teams to define and document data quality rules, ownership models, and governance frameworks.
  • Conduct requirement gathering, gap analysis, and develop technical design specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise data management and stewardship principles.
  • Support data validation, migration, and transformation activities as part of master data projects.
  • Participate in testing, issue resolution, and end-user support during implementation and post-go-live.

Technical Skills Required

  • Strong hands-on expertise in SAP S/4HANA Master Data Governance (MDG).
  • Proficiency in ABAP Object-Oriented Programming, ABAP Web Dynpro, and ABAP Workflow.
  • Deep understanding of Standard Data Model Enhancement and IDOC configuration.
  • Good knowledge of Business Rules Framework (BRF+) and Data Model concepts.
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with requirement gathering, documentation, and use case development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.
  • 3–6 years of experience in SAP MDG and related data management roles.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Exposure to data governance and stewardship practices.
