Overview The SAP MDG - Technical Consultant plays a vital role in the organization's data governance strategy by leveraging SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) tools to ensure the integrity, consistency, and quality of master data across various systems. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to implement and configure MDG solutions that align with business objectives. The consultant is responsible for not only the technical implementation and configuration of the MDG platform but also for providing expertise in data management processes. The ability to communicate effectively between IT and business stakeholders is crucial for this role to ensure that the master data setup supports operational efficiency and analytics. By enhancing the quality of master data, the consultant enables informed decision-making and provides insights that contribute to overall business success, thus making this role a cornerstone in achieving organizational goals.Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and configure SAP MDG solutions based on business requirements.
  • Collaborate with business teams to gather and understand master data requirements.
  • Perform system integration to facilitate data flow among various SAP modules.
  • Develop and execute data migration strategies to transfer existing data into MDG.
  • Create and maintain necessary documentation for system configurations and processes.
  • Conduct data quality assessments to identify and rectify inconsistencies.
  • Support testing activities including unit testing and user acceptance testing.
  • Provide training and support to end users regarding MDG functionalities.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot any technical issues that arise.
  • Enhance existing systems with process improvements to optimize data management.
  • Work closely with analytics teams to ensure master data supports reporting needs.
  • Stay updated with SAP MDG enhancements and industry best practices.
  • Participate in project planning and status meetings, providing updates on technical tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance policies and standards.
  • Assist in the development of data management roadmaps and strategies.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in SAP MDG implementation.
  • Strong understanding of data management principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in SAP ABAP for technical modifications and enhancements.
  • Experience with SQL for data manipulation and reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with system integrations in SAP landscape.
  • Knowledge of data quality tools and techniques.
  • Excellent documentation and process mapping skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in user training and technical support.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and methodologies.
  • Experience with process improvement techniques.
  • SAP certification in MDG is a plus.
  • Willingness to adapt to new technologies and tools.
