Chief Information Officer

Job Brief:

We're seeking an experienced Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead our technical vision and guide our product to its successful launch and beyond. You'll be responsible for making critical architectural decisions, ensuring product security, and scaling our multi-tenant platform as we transition from development to market.

Job Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

• Collaborate on business strategy and product roadmap decisions with the executive team.
• Conduct competitive analysis and assess emerging technology trends.
• Drive innovation initiatives and R&D efforts to maintain competitive advantage.
• Make strategic make-vs-buy decisions for technology solutions and platforms.
• Lead AI integration strategy and identify opportunities to enhance product capabilities with AI/ML solutions.

Technical Leadership & Architecture

• Drive technical strategy and architecture decisions for our multi-tenant SaaS platform.
• Lead and mentor our engineering team through product launch and initial scaling.
• Make critical product design choices that balance functionality, security, and scalability.
• Research, evaluate, and implement new technologies, tools, and frameworks.
• Design and implement AI/ML integrations to enhance product functionality and user experience.
• Establish and maintain technical standards, best practices, and development processes.

Product Security & Compliance

• Implement robust security frameworks for our multi-tenant architecture.
• Ensure data isolation and security compliance across tenant boundaries.
• Lead compliance initiatives (SOC 2, GDPR, and other regulatory requirements).
• Conduct technical risk assessment and implement mitigation strategies.
• Establish disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Operations & Process Management

• Optimize our AWS infrastructure for performance, cost, and scalability.
• Establish and oversee development methodologies and workflows.
• Manage technical budgets and resource allocation decisions.
• Lead vendor relationships and technology partnerships.
• Establish monitoring, alerting, and incident response procedures.
• Build technical support and DevOps processes for post-launch operations.

Business & Client Support

• Provide technical sales support and participate in client architecture discussions.
• Support technical due diligence processes for business initiatives.
• Collaborate with sales and customer success teams on technical requirements.

Team Development & Hiring

• Build and scale engineering teams as we grow post-launch.
• Participate in hiring decisions across technical and non-technical roles.
• Foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
• Maintain our remote-first culture while ensuring effective team coordination.

Required Qualifications:

Technical Expertise

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with 4+ years in senior technical leadership roles.
• Proven experience with Laravel, PHP, React, , and modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Deep understanding of multi-tenant SaaS architecture and associated challenges.
• Extensive AWS experience including infrastructure design, security, and cost optimization.
• Strong background in application security, particularly for multi-tenant environments.
• Knowledge of AI/ML technologies and experience integrating AI solutions into SaaS products.
• Understanding AI/ML APIs, model deployment, and data pipeline architecture.
• Knowledge of modern DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

Leadership Experience

• Experience leading engineering teams through product launches.
• Track record of making sound technical decisions under pressure.
• Ability to balance technical debt with feature development.
• Experience with remote team management and distributed development workflows.
