Job DescriptionMajor accountabilities:
  • Define and implement sourcing strategies for raw materials in alignment with global category strategies.
  • Responsible to handle the spend approx. $50 Mio.
  • Detailed analysis of the spend and align with the stakeholders
  • Lead supplier selection, qualification, negotiation, and contracting processes.
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance, ensuring adherence to quality, service, and cost expectations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure end-to-end alignment.
  • Drive supplier consolidation and preferred supplier usage in line with Novartis' "Hands Free Buying" initiative.
  • Utilize tools such as SAP Ariba for RFQs, contract creation, and operationalization of sourcing decisions.
  • Monitor market trends and supply risks, and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
  • Support sustainability and innovation initiatives within the raw materials category.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 6 years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, preferably in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in sourcing tools (e.g., SAP Ariba) and data analytics.
  • Ability to work in a global matrix environment and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and quality requirements in pharmaceutical sourcing is a plus.
