  • Procurement and sourcing: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors to secure high-quality, cost-effective goods and services, such as medications, equipment, and other operational supplies.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate prices, contracts, and terms with vendors to achieve the most favorable deals for the hospital.
  • Inventory management: Monitor stock levels, forecast demand, and ensure timely replenishment of supplies to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Order processing: Create and issue purchase orders, track deliveries, and process requisitions for materials and goods.
  • Supplier relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, resolve issues like damaged goods or delivery delays, and evaluate vendor performance.
  • Compliance and quality control: Ensure all purchases comply with healthcare regulations and hospital policies, and that received goods meet quality standards.
  • Documentation and reporting: Maintain accurate records of all purchases, contracts, and supplier information. Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on procurement activities, costs, and performance.
  • Financial coordination: Liaise with the accounts department regarding payments for purchases and reconcile invoices and discrepancies.
