Position: Proposal Engineer

Location:Thane 

Experience: 0-2 years in proposals, estimation, or design with an OEM or engineering company

Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical / Chemical / Process Engineering

Role Overview:

The Proposal Engineer will be responsible for preparing techno-commercial proposals, cost estimations, and technical documentation for process filtration systems, skids, and related equipment. The role requires close coordination with the sales, design, and execution teams to deliver accurate and competitive proposals within defined timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review customer enquiries, specifications, P&IDs, and URS documents.
  • Prepare detailed techno-commercial offers including system design, scope of supply, exclusions, and terms & conditions.
  • Coordinate with design and engineering teams for technical inputs and cost estimation.
  • Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and identify bought-out items (valves, pumps, instruments, etc.).
  • Optimize designs and costing to ensure competitive pricing without compromising quality.
  • Communicate with vendors for quotations and validate technical compliance.
  • Support the sales team in technical discussions and presentations with clients.
  • Maintain proposal records, revisions, and ensure timely submission of offers.
  • Assist in handover of awarded projects to the project execution team.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of P&ID reading and process flow understanding.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of AutoCAD / design tools is an advantage.
  • Good communication and technical writing skills.
  • Analytical approach with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple proposals simultaneously.

Preferred Background:

  • Experience in process filtration systems, skids, or process equipment.
  • Exposure to pharma, biotech, chemical, or water treatment industries.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and customer documentation requirements.

Growth Path:

Successful performance as Proposal Engineer can lead to progression into Senior Proposal Engineer / Proposal Manager roles, with exposure to sales, project management, and customer interface.
