Sr. Logistics Executive (Head Office)

Job Summary

The Sr. Logistics Executive will be a key member of our Head Office team, responsible for managing and optimizing all logistics activities for our manufacturing units. This role requires a strong understanding of logistics operations, SAP functionality, and cost-saving strategies. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with excellent negotiation and coordination skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transporter Management:
  • Coordinate with transporters for TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) declarations and ensure all related documentation is completed accurately and on time.
  • Develop a network of competitive transporters for each location to ensure cost-effective and reliable delivery services.
  • Arrange and schedule transporters to meet delivery requirements for all factory locations.
  • Prepare and maintain yearly agreements for both inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring all records are properly stored.
  • Cost Management and Analysis:
  • Conduct monthly cost analysis for finished goods tanker freight, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Negotiate with transporters for local freight rates as needed to secure favorable pricing.
  • Revise and communicate transportation freight costs to transporters and internal business teams based on fluctuations in diesel prices.
  • Analyse overall logistics costs and implement cost-saving strategies to improve the company's bottom line.
  • Logistics Optimization:
  • Optimize logistics and shipping routes to reduce costs and improve overall efficiency.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks within the logistics and supply chain process.
  • System and Documentation:
  • Coordinate with the SAP team to resolve logistics-related issues and troubleshoot any SAP errors in the logistics department.
  • Maintain proper and accurate accounts and records for every consignment cleared.

Qualifications

  • Education: B. Com or higher qualification.
  • Certifications: Certifications in logistics, supply chain management, or SAP are a plus.
  • Experience: A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Skills:
  • Proven negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and SAP.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
