Role & responsibilities

  • Prepare the operating room before surgery by setting up surgical instruments, sterile drapes, and necessary equipment.
  • Check and ensure the functionality of all surgical instruments and equipment prior to surgery.
  • Assist surgeons and nursing staff during procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials.
  • Maintain strict aseptic techniques to prevent infection.
  • Handle and clean instruments post-surgery; ensure proper sterilization and storage.
  • Assist in positioning and preparing patients for surgery.
  • Maintain and update OT records, checklists, and equipment logs.
  • Ensure availability of required consumables and report shortages promptly.
  • Coordinate with the anesthesia team and nursing staff for smooth workflow.
  • Adhere to hospital safety policies and protocols, including infection control and waste management.
  • Assist in emergency cases and support in other related duties as assigned.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Education: Diploma / Certificate in OT Technology or B.Sc. in Operation Theatre Technology.
  • Experience: 03 years of experience in a hospital setup (freshers can be considered).
  • Licensing: As per local or institutional requirements.
