Job Title: DevOps Engineer for VICIdial Contact Centre Overview: We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team responsible for managing and optimizing our VICIdial contact center infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience in both software development and system operations, with a focus on automating processes and ensuring high availability and reliability of our contact center platform.
Responsibilities:
  • Infrastructure Management: Maintain and enhance the infrastructure hosting VICIdial, including servers, databases, and networking components.
  • Automation: Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to streamline deployment, configuration, and monitoring processes.
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery, testing, and deployment of VICIdial updates and configurations.
  • Monitoring and Alerting: Set up and configure monitoring tools to track system performance, identify issues, and proactively respond to potential outages or performance degradation.
  • Security: Ensure the security of the VICIdial infrastructure by implementing best practices for access control, data encryption, and vulnerability management.
  • Scalability: Plan and implement strategies to scale the VICIdial infrastructure to accommodate growing usage and meet performance requirements.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for the VICIdial infrastructure, including configuration details, troubleshooting guides, and best practices.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with developers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to coordinate software releases and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Performance Optimization: Identify opportunities for performance optimization and efficiency improvements in the VICIdial infrastructure, such as database tuning and resource utilization optimization.
  • Disaster Recovery: Implement and test disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity in the event of system failures or disasters.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role, preferably in a contact center environment.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Ruby.
  • Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Nagios, Prometheus, ELK stack, or Grafana.
  • Understanding of version control systems like Git.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with VoIP technologies and protocols.
  • Knowledge of VICIdial or other contact center solutions.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies like Scrum or Kanban.
