Role & responsibilities

Job Title: Sr Credit Analyst European High Yield / Distressed Debt

Location: Pune/Work from Home

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytically strong Credit Analyst, focusing on European High Yield and Distressed Debt opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct bottom-up fundamental credit research on companies in the European HY and distressed debt, including leveraged loans and private debt instruments.
  • Build and maintain financial models (3-statement, LBO, restructuring scenarios) to forecast company performance, capital structure evolution, and recovery value under various scenarios.
  • Identify catalyst-driven investment opportunities, particularly in stressed, distressed, or restructuring situations.
  • Produce detailed investment memoranda and present recommendations to portfolio managers and the investment committee.
  • Monitor existing investments, track key developments, and update internal ratings and valuations.
  • Stay up to date with macroeconomic, sector-specific, and regulatory developments that impact European credit markets.

Qualifications:

  • 2-6 years of experience in credit research, distressed investing, leveraged finance, or restructuring (buy-side, sell-side, advisory, or ratings agency).
  • Strong academic background with a Masters' degree in Finance, CFA/FRM preferred.
  • Strong modeling skills, particularly in distressed scenarios and recovery valuation (e.g., liquidation, DCF, comps).
  • Familiarity with European insolvency and restructuring frameworks is a plus.
  • Highly detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
