The Role
The Role:

As part of our continuing and rapid expansion, we are now looking for a seasoned Legal Counsel, in an Independent Contributor role, to join our team in Gurgaon, India. You will be responsible for providing end to end legal support on a wide variety of commercial, operational, governance and regulatory issues. You will also provide strategic advice to the senior leadership team and contribute to drive forward Nothing's business development and growth strategy.

What You'll Do

  • Review, draft, negotiate and manage various business agreements including, but not limited to, Distribution Agreements, Purchase Agreements, Marketing Agreements, MSA, etc.
  • Advise on a range of general corporate matters, including, FDI, customs, brand authorizations, IP/trademark violations, etc.
  • Support various compliance matters, including corporate secretary, product compliance, environmental compliance, labor, consumer protection etc.
  • Work along with Global legal teams and other business teams on various issues affecting the Company.
  • Provide accurate, timely and pragmatic legal advice and ensure the team is aligned with business strategy and objectives.
  • Engage relevant external counsels as and when required and blend together the advice and inputs from external counsel with in-house advice, to offer cost-effective and solutions-oriented outcomes for the business.
  • Ensure record keeping of all the legal documents.

What We Are Looking For

  • 10+yrs of post qualification legal experience. Smartphone or consumer tech industry experience is a plus. CS qualification is desirable, not mandatory.
  • Qualified in India.
  • Excellent academic and leading law firm credentials. International work experience or education is a bonus though not a prerequisite.
  • Past experience in a start-up environment is desirable.
  • Self-starter and ability to work independently while contributing to cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to identify relevant business and legal issues proactively, define and assess the materiality of risks, find creative solutions to maintain business momentum.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong command over English, both written and verbal.
  • Skill and ability to identify risks, propose solutions, and explain complex legal issues and requirements to a range of internal and external audiences.
  • The ability to prioritize conflicting demands and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced scale-up environment.
  • The ability to behave professionally and appropriately, and to work as a team.
