IT - OT Implementation Manager Infrastructure

Role Summary

The IT - OT Implementation Manager is accountable for turning approved OT infrastructure designs into safe, repeatable, on-time deployments across mills and power assets. You'll coordinate multi-site rollouts, manage vendors and site work windows, enforce standards (zones/conduits, secure access, hardening), and ensure clean operational handoffs—spanning Purdue/OSI layers 0–7.

Scope note: Infrastructure only—no MES and no PLC/DCS programming.

What You'll Do

  • Program & rollout management

  • Convert HLD/LLD into executable plans, site waves, and cutover calendars; manage scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, and comms across multiple sites.

  • Build and maintain Implementation Playbooks (MOPs, prechecks, rollback, SAT/acceptance) and standard work packages (S/M/L site patterns with reference BOMs).

  • Execution on the plant floor

  • Lead coordinated installs and cutovers for L2/L3 networks, routed cells/VLANs, firewalls/DMZ, jump hosts/remote access, OT AD/identity prerequisites, servers/virtualization, NVR/VMS backbones, industrial Wi-Fi, and historian/OPC connectivity (infra side).

  • Orchestrate maintenance windows and shutdowns with production and EHS (LOTO, permits, toolbox talks).

  • Security & compliance by default

  • Enforce IEC 62443 / NIST aligned designs, labeling, media control, allow-listing, and time-sync (PTP/NTP) checks; ensure logging/backup prerequisites before go-live.

  • Operational readiness & hypercare

  • Ensure spares lists, backups/DR runbooks, as-builts, and CMDB/asset updates are complete; run hypercare and transition to steady-state support.

  • Lifecycle coordination

  • Plan firmware/OS upgrades and EOL transitions with minimal downtime; schedule patch windows and verify post-change health.

  • Reporting & governance

  • Maintain RAID logs, earned value/burn-down (where applicable), and site readiness dashboards; present status to OT Leadership and stakeholders.

What You Bring

Must-Have

  • 6–8+ years delivering OT/industrial infrastructure projects with multi-site rollouts.
  • Strong knowledge of Purdue/OSI 0–7, plant operations, and EHS practices.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating: switching/routing (L2/L3, VLANs), routed cells, firewalls/DMZ/jump hosts, secure vendor access, PTP/NTP validation, virtualization (e.g., VMware/Hyper-V), backup/restore, and NVR/VMS backbones (infra perspective).
  • Hands-on change control and MOP/rollback execution in live plants.
  • Vendor/SI management (SOWs, SAT/acceptance, SLAs) and budget control (CapEx/OpEx, change orders).
  • Clear documentation discipline (runbooks, as-builts, asset tagging/CMDB).
  • Excellent communication with operators, maintenance, controls/OT, IT security/network, EHS, and procurement.
  • Willing to travel ~10%; occasional international travel.

Nice-to-Have

  • IEC 62443 credentials or ISA/industrial security training; networking/security certs (e.g., CCNP/FortiNet/PCNSE).
  • Exposure to historian/OPC UA infra patterns, certificate handling, and brokered data flows.
  • Familiarity with ITIL service transition/operations and light automation (PowerShell/Python) for validation or documentation tasks.

What You Will Not Do

  • No MES/application build/run.
  • No PLC/DCS programming. You manage infra pre-requisites and the deployment program.

Day-to-Day Tools & Environment

  • ServiceNow (Ideas Demand Project, changes), MS Project/Planner, SharePoint/Teams, Visio, Excel/Power BI for dashboards.
  • Close collaboration with OT Architects, OT Area Coordinators, Plant Engineering/Maintenance, Network/Security, EHS, Procurement, and approved SIs under strict change control/MOC.
