Job Summary

As a Pricing and Booking Executive in the freight forwarding industry, you will play a critical role in ensuring competitive and profitable pricing for ocean export and import shipments. You will be responsible for procuring and negotiating rates with shipping lines, analyzing market trends, and responding to customer inquiries and RFQs with tailored pricing solutions. In this role, you will work closely with the sales team to guide them on the most cost-effective and strategic solutions for clients, ensuring smooth coordination between pricing, booking, and execution.

Your primary goal will be to maintain strong relationships with shipping lines, optimize profitability, and deliver exceptional pricing services that meet customer needs while aligning with the companys financial objectives. This position demands strong analytical skills, market awareness, and the ability to negotiate effectively while working in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Pricing for Ocean Export and Import:
Develop and maintain accurate pricing strategies for ocean export and import shipments, ensuring competitive yet profitable solutions.

2. Procurement of Rates:
Source competitive pricing by coordinating with shipping lines based on inquiries received from the sales team. Ensure timely responses to rate requests to maintain client satisfaction.

3. Sales Team Support:
Guide and assist the sales team by providing cost-effective, market-competitive, and profitable shipping solutions. Act as the go-to point for pricing strategies and alternative options for client requirements.

4. Liaison with Shipping Lines:
Build and maintain relationships with shipping lines for effective rate negotiation. Monitor and manage price variations, ensuring that the company is well-positioned in the market.

5. Response to RFQs (Request for Quotations):
Analyze RFQs from customers to understand their requirements and provide tailored pricing solutions. Ensure the accuracy and profitability of responses to RFQs while maintaining competitive pricing.

6. Market Analysis:
Regularly analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and shipping line strategies to stay ahead in the industry.

7. Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain records of pricing structures, negotiations, and agreements for internal reference and audits. Provide periodic reports to management on pricing trends and opportunities.

8. Customer Communication:
Address customer queries related to pricing promptly and professionally. Collaborate with the operations team to ensure smooth transitions from pricing to booking and execution.
