Overview As a New Product Development Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in leading the design and development of innovative products.   • Lead the mechanical design and development of new products from concept to production.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support the design process and ensure technical feasibility.
  • Create and review detailed technical drawings, specifications, and documentation using CAD software.
  • Collaborate with industrial designers and engineers to integrate aesthetics and functionality into product design.
  • Prototype and test mechanical components and systems to validate design concepts.
  • Ensure products comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
  • Optimize product performance and manufacturability through continuous improvement and design iterations.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to transfer designs into production, resolve issues, and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and communicate effectively with stakeholders to drive projects forward.
  • Contribute to cost analysis, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies for new product development projects.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during product development and after product launch.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to incorporate into product development processes.
  • Drive innovation and contribute to the creation of intellectual property through patents and innovative design solutions.
  • Support product lifecycle management activities and contribute to product roadmap planning.
Required qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in new product development within the mechanical engineering domain.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software for mechanical design and drafting, such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CREO.
  • Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical component design principles.
  • Experience in prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical systems and components.
  • Familiarity with simulation and analysis tools for mechanical design validation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to apply engineering principles to real-world challenges.
  • Understanding of design for manufacturability, assembly, and cost optimization.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to present technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards, safety requirements, and product certification processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating high-quality, reliable products.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and drive projects to successful completion.
  • Experience in leading design reviews, design failure mode and effects analysis (DFMEA), and design validation activities.
