Role and Responsibilities:
  • Select, qualify, and manage the mechanical components used in product design and manufacturing.
  • Evaluate and select mechanical components that meet product design requirements, including performance, reliability, and availability.
  • Ensure components meet required specifications and quality standards by evaluating part specifications and drawings.
  • Create and maintain parts in the database, including adding specifications and manufacturer information.
  • Manage the part life cycle by evaluating supplier-initiated changes and implementing associated updates.
  • Identify and assess risks associated with component use and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
  • Continuously improve component selection and qualification processes to optimize performance and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Candidate Qualifications:
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Material Engineering with a focus on mechanical components.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
Required Skills:
  • Technical knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
  • Attention to detail and ability to ensure components meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve design and manufacturing issues.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with suppliers, manufacturers, and product development team members.
  • Knowledge of regulations, standards, and best practices related to mechanical component design, quality control, and safety.
  • Continuously learning mindset to keep up with advances in electronic components and their applications.
