DGM/GM - Financial Controller

Role & responsibilities

1. Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A): Establish the best practices and systems for FP&A and Costing function to enable accurate financial data and insightful analysis for operating efficiency improvement. Oversee budget preparation and forecasting to ensure timely informed decision-making.

2. Business Strategy: Participate in defining vision, strategy, goals and timeline together with business heads. Drive strategy along with management of the company to achieve business objectives.

3. Business Controllership: Working closely with all business heads and controllers to work on cost initiatives, customer costing, break-even point and budget. Ensuring periodic Cost monitoring, variance analysis and identifying the gaps from targets and proposing ideas to implement measures to mitigate the gaps.

4. Risk Management: Frame a robust Risk Management Policy. Identify and mitigate business and financial risks, setting up the control framework (Risk Control Matrix) to protect the financial well-being of the organization. Ensure robust control mechanism across companies with no major process or financial lapses

5. Financial Reporting: Overseeing the preparation and presentation of financial reports of Operating companies to Senior management and Board of Directors. Ensure a clean statutory audit report for all holding & subsidiary companies

6. Policies and SOPs: Develop policies and SOPs harmonizing with regulations and business requirements, mitigating risks, optimizing operations along with integrating best business practices for improvement in financial functions.

7. Treasury and Capital Management: Managing the company's capital structure, including fundraising, investments, and allocation of resources. Evaluating different sources of funding and deciding on the most effective way to deploy financial resources. Establish Governance structure in Company for PE Investment/ IPO.

8. Compliance and Regulatory Oversight: Ensuring the company comply with all financial regulations and laws. Staying updated on changes in regulations that might affect the company's financial operations.

9. Leadership and Team Management: Leading and developing a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and ensuring the team's alignment with the company's overall goals. Developing skilled accounting professionals.

Preferred candidate profile

• CA with minimum of 14 years of experience.
• Extensive experience in financial management, preferably in a leadership role.
• Handled a business turnover of Crores
• Handled Multiple plants with multiple location is added advantage
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
• Strong experience in driving the budget and cost initiatives.
• Experience in working with multiple businesses and driving strategy across the organization
• Strong understanding of Management Information Systems (MIS) and ensuring financial reporting accuracy.
• A strategic mindset and the ability to plan for the long-term financial health of the organization.
• Previous experience in Manufacturing Plant controllership
• Good knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), finalization of accounts, direct and indirect taxation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the budgeting process.
• Familiarity with treasury operations and responsibility for monthly account closures.
• Ability to manage and lead statutory audits independently across multiple entities.
• The candidate should be IT-savvy, with the ability to lead IT initiatives within the finance function and drive process improvements through technology.
• Strong compliance orientation, ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Delegation of Authority (DOA), and maintaining 100% compliance with statutory/legal requirements.
• Proven experience in leading a team of 4-6 members.
